Craft-Bamboo Racing has kicked off their Blancpain GT Series Asia weekend with great results in both the GT3 and GT4 classes. The #88 Porsche of Devon Modell and Nick Foster scored a hard fought second-place podium in the GT3 class, followed by Darryl O’Young and Peter Li Zhi Cong in the #99 VLT Porsche in P4, with both cars scoring a huge chunk of points for their respective championship title fights. Frank Yu and Jean-Marc Merlin scored their third win of the season with another great drive, taking the #77 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR from fourth to first in the GT4 class, marking a great start to their Blancpain GT Series Asia weekend in Japan. The 24 hours of Le Mans has been run and won, and we’ve come away with a straight car after running faultlessly throughout the whole race. We struggled quite a bit with BoP here – we just did not have the pace to match the guys we should have been fighting with. We did all that we could though and came home 10th in the LM GTE Am class. This event is like nothing else I’ve ever experienced. It is not just the race that is a test of endurance – the whole event requires endurance! Race week kicks off with first practice on Wednesday, followed by first qualifying later that evening. On Sunday, it was time to hit the track as a part of the official test day. As a rookie, I am required to complete 10 laps in our Porsche 911 RSR, but other than that it was just an opportunity to get to grips with this mega track without any of the added pressure of race week. We spent the test day taking it relatively easy. At Le Mans the

It is the sort of place that takes your breath away before you even get out on to the track. I raced here two years ago in the Carrera Cup support race, but it is still a mega place to race at! One of the things I love about racing in the World Endurance Championship is the epic tracks we attend – along with Spa and Le Mans of course we will also go to the Nurburgring and Fuji, and of course the prologue was at Monza. These are places I’ve dreamt about racing on! The first round in Silverstone went really well. The feedback from the team was really positive, and I was relatively happy with my performance, particularly with how close I was to Ben. I know where I can improve and what I need to
